Alamo Heights Night
Thanks to the generosity of the Alamo Heights Rotary Club, SAYL will once again sell brightly colored cascarones as a part of the 22nd Annual Alamo Heights Night on April 18, 2008.
Be sure to look for our eggs–citing booth and buy a dozen or two. It’s eggs-actly what you’re looking for!

Birdies for Charity
Calling all golfers! Birdies for Charity is a fundraising program designed by Golf San Antonio to give local organizations like SAYL the opportunity to generate contributions through the Valero Texas Open.
Starting May 2nd and ending October 7th, you can make your contribution online by visiting www.golfsanantonio.org, or you can call (210) 299-1533 and request that a
pledge form be sent to you.

Carmelita de Andalucia
San Antonio Youth Literacy has developed a partnership with local children’s book author Charlotte Brokaw Powers. Charlotte’s independently published book Carmelita de Andalucia
is the story of a little gitana (gypsy) girl named Carmelita who lives in Spain. The story, as told by Carmelita, is centered on her family. It is a loving adventure about her heart’s
desire to have her very own red flamenco shoes. Events happen that push her dream further away as she helps those that she loves. A life lesson is learned: all people must have worth.
Carmelita’s dancing talent gives her a place of special worth.
Charlotte Brokaw Powers is donating $2.00 from each sale of Carmelita de Andalucia to San Antonio Youth Literacy. You can support SAYL by purchasing a copy of the book. To do so, please
