Scholarship Breakfast 2007

The 2nd Annual Harriet Marmon Helmle Scholarship Breakfast was held on November 13th, 2007 at the Plaza Club. Special guest speaker Henry Cisneros addressed over 100 guests and spoke about the exciting growth of the city since his time as mayor. In honor of SAYL Founder Harriet Marmon Helmle’s lifetime dedication to promoting literacy for San Antonio’s at-risk youth, SAYL awarded a $2,500 scholarship to deserving Volunteer Reading Tutor Joseph Zaragoza.

SAYL extends heartfelt thanks to all the guests who attended and supported the event. SAYL especially thanks those corporate and individual sponsors who made the breakfast possible.
