2008 Gala: Pickup a Book and Read!
On Tuesday, May 13, San Antonio Youth Literacy (SAYL) will host its annual gala and proudly honor Toyota Motor Corporation for its strong commitment to children’s literacy through the Toyota Family Literacy Program. This year’s event will be held at the Sky Room of the University of the Incarnate Word. Festivities will kick off at 6:30 p.m.
This not-to-be-missed evening will be made even more memorable because special guest Dr. Shoichiro Toyoda, Honorary Chairman of Toyota and the son of its founder Kiichiro Toyoda, will be in attendance. Dr. Toyoda has received numerous honors including the prestigious Deming Prize and Knight Commander of the British Empire for his contributions to quality control in industry and for his support of international trade.
Guests will be treated to sumptuous culinary delights provided by The RK Group and to the sweet sounds of the Rick Cavender Band. Silent auction treasures will include jewelry, sports collectibles, and spa packages. Tables of ten are priced at three sponsorship levels: CrewMax at $10,000, Double Cab at $5,000, and Regular Cab at $2,500. Individual tickets are $250.
