SAYL needs your help! We are dedicated to the children of San Antonio in their journey to become life-long readers. However, we need your support to provide our services to the hundreds of students who currently do not receive the benefit of our program do to the lack of funding.
On Thursday, March 22, SAYL is participating in the Big Give. We invite you to help share your story and become a SAYL Champion. Word of mouth is the number one way new volunteers and supporters learn about SAYL – from you, our dedicated Reading Buddies, Book Buddies and volunteers. Help us spread the word about our mission of providing one-on-one support to children of San Antonio by empowering them with the skills needed to read to learn while fostering self-confidence and an enjoyment of reading.
We have two ways you can join us in this goal. First, sign-up to become a SAYL Fundraiser. On the day of the Big Give, we ask that you invite your family, friends, and coworkers to give just $10. Don’t worry, we will make this easy for you! We will provide a toolkit with a step-by-step guide on how to set up your own fundraising page and other helpful tips. Just think, if all 700 of our volunteers asked 10 friends to give just $10 we would raise $70,000 for SAYL!
The second way we invite you to help us is by sharing your story. Why are you a SAYL Reading Buddy or Book Buddy volunteer? Why is it important to you to help SA kids become life-long readers? We want to hear from you! We will be setting up a video booth at our office and hope you can come take a few minutes to share your own story.
We hope you will join us by signing up to be either a SAYL Fundraiser or to Share Your Story (or both!) and be a SAYL Champion. Folks who sign up will receive a free SAYL t-shirt and a SAYL Fiesta medal (our first medal ever!)
