San Antonio Youth Literacy (SAYL) promotes the literacy skills of at-risk youth. SAYL trains volunteers to work one-on-one with elementary school-aged children who are reading below grade level.

San Antonio Youth Literacy is an Opportunity Partner with SA2020. SAYL is a recognized leader in the area of early reading intervention and is committed to increase to the number of 3rd graders reading on level. This commitment is in direct alignment with SA2020’s target to improve 3rd grade reading scores. Last summer, SAYL signed on officially as an opportunity partner with Mayor Castro’s
